Alexandra and John had an intimate wedding at a teeny tiny chapel that was straight out of a fairy tale. And then they celebrated with a British Royals inspired theme in honor of Alexandra’s parents. Alexandra’s Dad passed away in 2009 and her mom was too frail to attend the wedding, so instead, Alexandra and John found numerous thoughtful, sweet, and touching ways to keep her parents close throughout the day. She explains some of the ways they honored her parents here: “For example, both of my parents were massive anglophiles (I was named for “Queen Alexandra”) so we’re using royal wedding portraits for table numbers and I’m wearing a stick pin with Queen Alexandra’s monogram (my something old, something blue) that would’ve been given by Queen Alexandra to a guest at court. The crackers (gold favors) at the tables are traditionally for Christmas, but we thought they’d be great ice breakers and get everyone feeling silly and festive and we’ve enjoyed them at family Christmases and I introduced them to John’s family last Christmas.”

These two are so sweet together and had such a lovely wedding surrounded by close friends and family. Congratulations Alix & John! xo
