Town Garden and Buttery Light
We chose Plymouth for Liz and Nick’s sunset engagement session – read on to see why! Liz and Nick are college sweethearts – and you know that I have a special affinity for college sweethearts because Scott and I met and fell in love in college too! They were introduced through a mutual friend and the rest is history. They’ve already done long distance as Nick is in the RI National Guard and although challenging, it brought them even closer together and strengthened their relationship. Nick is from Plymouth and the Liz and Nick have made countless memories together there so it was the perfect small seaside New England town with a boatload of happy memories attached to it for their engagement session.
We met up about 90 minutes before sunset and started in the Brewster Gardens for some strolling and snuggling. Plymouth is steeped in history and a colonial building sits adjacent to the park so we popped over to take photos there as well. Liz and Nick are so comfortable and playful together. At one point Liz spontaneosly jumped up on Nick’s back for a piggy back ride! They were cracking jokes and making each other laugh the whole time. I loved capturing their sweet and fun love! Also, how cute is the white romper that Liz changed into?! LOVE!
Sunset On the Plymouth Jetty
The stone in Liz’s engagement ring is extra special. It is from her grandmother’s ring and Nick had it reset as a surprise for Liz when he popped the question. So her ring is not just beautiful but is also a family heirloom and a lovely reminder of her grandmother. And Nick planned a perfect proposal too – complete with the weather cooperating for extra romance! It was winter in Boston and the two went out to dinner. They then went for a walk in Boston Common. When they got to the highest point in the Common, at the aptly named Soldiers and Sailors Monument, it had begun to snow and Nick popped the question. Then, when they returned home he had arranged for their families to be there waiting to celebrate together!
The sunset in Plymouth was stunning and the jetty was an epic backdrop so we headed out right as the sun was dropping. The clouds had moved in and the light was amazing! Liz and Nick – I am so excited for your wedding in August! XO
