Meeting Kim & Tim
Before their chic wedding at Latitude 41, Kim and Tim are found each other during their time at Boston College (Go Eagles!). After college they both ended up in CA, reconnected while there, and the rest is history! Kim said she knew Tim was a great guy when he surprised her on her move-in day in CA with flowers and a 6-pack of beer on her doorstep as a welcome present! And their proposal story is awesome. I especially love it because I also love running and so this makes me smile extra big. One evening, Tim surprised Kim on their run along the beach with a sign carved out in the sand asking her to marry him. He even had friends hiding nearby to capture photos of the moment when he got down on one knee! How amazing is that?! This is just one great example of how incredibly caring and sweet these two are together.
I met Kim and Tim on their wedding day, after speaking to Kim once on the phone the week before her wedding. You see, my dear photographer friend Brooke was severely ill (hospital visits and bed rest ill) and I was filling in for her at the last minute. Kim and I chatted for almost an hour on the phone the week before the wedding and I knew she was taking the last minute change in stride and was going to have an amazing wedding day by the time we hung up. From the moment I arrived on the wedding day Kim was all smiles and the sunny fall day matched her demeanor perfectly. The talented Tim Mannle met the groom Tim for getting ready and served as an amazing partner for the day as we photographed their wedding together. After getting ready, we left to meet Tim for their first look and it only got better from there!
First Look: A Sunny Day At Latitude 41
We found the shade of tree at Latitude 41 for their first look and then quickly moved down to the water with their bridal party and family to take photos before the ceremony. Latitude 41 sits right on the edge of Mystic Seaport and right on the water. It’s a great space for a wedding with access to the Seaport for photos, views over the water for guests during cocktail hour, and a lovely warm, reception room with high ceilings, wood beams, and tasteful nautical inspired decor. We were able to capture all of their bridal party and family photos and do some sweet couples portraits during their first look.
Ceremony: St. Mary Church in Stonington, CT
The ceremony was lovely and full of joy. Kim and Tim grinned ear-to-ear throughout the entire thing and were so excited to marry one another. They said their vows surrounded by family and friends and the love was palpable. They then boarded a trolley as newlyweds with their bridal party to head to the reception where they had arranged for their puppy to stop by for some family photos!
Sunset Wedding Portraits At Mystic Seaport
Their puppy was all dressed for the occasion and the warm golden hour light was amazing. We explored the Seaport and found all kinds of great places for them to snuggle up and take some moments together as husband and wife as we captured their love on camera!
Time To Party
Kim and Tim were able to relax and hang out with their guests for the last half of their cocktail hour since they did a first look. Everyone was relaxing on the lawn and enjoying the sunset on the water. They even had a band for the evening to provide the music and it was so much fun!Kim and Tim – you two are so sweet and I’m so happy for you! Congratulations XO
