You know I love me some college sweethearts! And Tina and Myles are just that – two college sweethearts-turned-soulmates! Not only did they both go to Holy Cross, they met because they both played on the lacrosse teams at Holy Cross! So basically, they’re pretty awesome athletes, as well as awesome people. They started their relationship as friends who supported each other on and off the lacrosse field and spent most of their time in college as friends. They started dating in their senior year and have been together ever since. Needless to say, Holy Cross alum were there en masse to celebrate these two tying the knot!
When Myles decided to pop the question, he did it in style. Last December, he and Tina flew down to stay in Myles’ family home in GA to celebrate the NYE together. Unbeknown to Tina, Myles had Tina’s parents and older sister fly down to GA in anticipation of him popping the question. One morning when they were arriving for a brunch with Myles’ family, he got down on knee and proposed. Afterwards, they went inside to share the news with the family and Tina found her parents and sister waiting there to share in the good news too! Tina said she normally hates surprises, but that this one was a pretty great exception! And they jumped into some initial planning right then and there. Of course, both being alums, getting married at Holy Cross where their love story began made perfect sense! and they quickly sought the talents of Renee at Urban Soiree Boston to help bring their vision to life!
Getting Ready
The ladies went to Capelli Avanti for their hair and makeup and then I met them at the hotel for final getting ready. Tina got each of her ladies the cutest denim shirts with sparkly monograms on the pockets. They were a cozy twist on the pretty robes you often see and I love that they’re versatile enough to wear out of the house! And her ladies surprised her with a gorgeous print of the Holy Cross chapel where she and Myles were about to tie the knot. Myles got each of his guys bowties made with feathers from Brackish. They added the perfect pop of color and a fancy feel to the tuxes. Tina’s bridesmaids wore dresses from BHLDN in a rich cranberry color perfect for fall and she wore an absolutely stunning gown by Pronovias. While the ladies got ready and we waited to get Tina into her dress, I was able to capture some details of her beautiful invitation suite designed by Roseville Designs. I love how she incorporated soft floral accents and the rich cranberry color that Tina and Myles chose for their fall wedding!
First Look & Portraits at The College of the Holy Cross
Tina and Myles opted for a first look so they could see each other for a lot more time on their day and spend their wedding reception with their guests. So we did their first look in one of quads on campus, took their bridal party portraits outside their freshmen dorm, and their family portraits outside the chapel. Every spot was one they were intimately familiar with and had wonderful memories associated with it. It doesn’t get more meaningful and special than that! And the gorgeous florals by The Flowering Vine were the cherry on top!
Holy Cross Chapel Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony took place in the chapel. The chapel is absolutely gorgeous and Tina and Myles were grinning from ear-to-ear throughout the entire thing. They said their vows as their loved ones looked on and their was so much joy and moments of laughter throughout the ceremony as Tina and Myles encouraged louder cheers after their first kiss! lol! So adorable! Their love of life and the fun they have together was felt throughout the entire day!
Holy Cross Hogan Campus Center Reception
Then everyone headed to the Hogan Center for their reception. They had a surprise for everyone with a choreographed first dance that included an epic dip at the end. They nailed it! And then everyone laughed cried as toasts were made to the bride and groom. The one thing that everyone said in one way or another was that these two are kind and generous souls. They’ve made a positive impact on all of their loved ones and they value family and friends above all else. After dinner, the Hip Pocket Orchestra kept the dance floor packed in between bites of delicious cake by Cookie Creatives. After their wedding, they headed to Africa for a few weeks on an amazing honeymoon! It was such a pleasure getting to know them and their families throughout the planning process. Congratulations Tina & Myles!! XO
