Hometown Sweethearts
When I first met Courtney, I learned that she and Josh are both from my hometown of Middleboro, MA and actually just bought a house there. Middleboro is a large town in terms of geography, but I pretty much never meet people who are from there! These two are younger than me so we didn’t know each other in school, but it was really fun to reminisce about the shared experiences of growing up and playing high school sports in the same small town.
Courtney and Josh met in high school but weren’t in the same friend group and didn’t start dating until college. Courtney needed a DJ for an event for a class and she reached out to Josh in a pinch because she remembered he used to DJ in high school. Josh made the most of Courtney reaching out – agreeing to DJ as long as she’d let him take her out on a date afterward. Courtney was more than happy to say yes! Here’s how Courtney describes their first date: “After my event we walked from my dorm at JWU to the Providence Place Mall, saw a movie, went back to JWU Campus and ate at City Burger, talked all day/night and held hands through the city. I think my previous crush on him re-ignited instantly and our love fest bloomed SO FAST.” How perfect is a first date that lasts for hours and that you still don’t want to end?!
For their session, they wanted a natural feel and some greenery so we headed to Arnold Arboretum to find some green trees in the middle of winter. Courtney had her hair and makeup done by the talented Ashley of Abode Beauty Bar before the session. And the day was sunny and unseasonably warm for January – so they lucked out and didn’t even need to sport winter coats and mittens! Courtney and I spoke before the session about how she and Josh love to have fun and be goofy together, so we made sure to incorporate some fun photos where they could really show off their silly side! Congratulations you two and thank you for letting me capture your sweet and fun love story! XO
