I’m so excited to share all the gorgeous photos from this romantic Glen Magna Farms wedding! I don’t think a more idyllic spot exists. The elegant gardens and reception tent were simply stunning. The bride, Natalie, said it well:
“The space at Glen Magna Farms is so beautiful… we fell in love with the lush and romantic gardens. We wanted our wedding to play off the natural beauty of the space and bring an elevated garden party vibe!“
You’ll see as you scroll below, the couple accomplished just that!
Getting ready:
Natalie and Wes are incredibly close to their families – the bridal party only included Natalie’s twin sisters and soon-to-be sister in law! This made the getting ready portion of the day incredibly fun and especially meaningful as Natalie was surrounded by her closest family members who had known and loved her for years.
As a Massachusetts wedding photographer, I get to see so many beautiful New England B&Bs and hotels – but the room Natalie used for getting ready was truly gorgeous! The canopy bed, bright windows, and perfectly curated furniture and art made such an elegant background to the bride and her party.
Wes and his groomsmen looked very dapper in blue suits and pale green ties, with Star Wars socks adding a delightful personal twist to the elegant look!
After getting ready, it was time to move outside. The “elevated garden party vibe” carried throughout the whole day – even starting months before with their bright, floral invitations.
First look:
Natalie joined Wes on the front lawn for their incredibly sweet first look. Wes was visibly moved when she tapped him on the shoulder and he turned to see her in the modern gown she chose. The two embraced, then took the time to read each other their personal vows.
During intimate, unscripted moments like this, there’s such a delicate balance for a photographer of getting in there to grab the shots you need in order to capture the memory, without intruding on the couple’s experience in the moment! I always take extra effort to minimize any distraction that I can. Often this means planning ahead to myself where I want to stand and move, giving the couple a starting point for where to stand, and then capturing everything as it unfolds! Flexibility is key.
Formal portraits for Romantic Glen Magna Farms Wedding:
Natalie and Wes decided that they wanted to take all formal portraits before the ceremony so they could enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests. I love this emphasis on enjoying the oh-so-brief time you get with your guests during the wedding day!
Natalie’s bridesmaids had coordinating styles for their gowns, with each person choosing the specific cut they preferred, while sticking to the same beautiful sea-foamy shade of green. The groomsmen’s blue suits looked sharp next to the pastel, and their ties brought in the same pale green shade to complement.
Ceremony:
Have you ever seen such a lush, beautiful garden setting? It felt like something out of a Greek myth or fairy tale! The columns framing the couple while they exchanged vows added such an elevated sensibility to the background of their outdoor ceremony. The flowers – lavender, bright pink, and white – were not only visually stunning, but filled the air with their soft, delicious scent. They included readings by each of their mothers during the ceremony, which was such a great way to make it even more personal.
Reception at Romantic Glen Magna Farms Wedding:
Let the garden party begin! Natalie & Wes wanted touches that were very “them,” like having koozies as reception favors, custom corn hole boards built by Natalie’s dad, and (nodding to Wes’s love of Lord of the Rings) a “No admittance except on party business” sign at the entrance to the tent.
Between toasts and cake cutting, dance floor take-overs (the bride and groom’s dances with their parents were a highlight – so fun and full of personality!) the newlywed couple snuck away for sunset portraits together in a brief moment alone. Then it was back to the celebration! What a perfect evening.
