Christina and AJ decided on a Golf Course Engagement session for a few reasons. Not only did they actually meet at a pro tournament one weekend, but AJ is also the Golf Pro at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club. They instantly knew they wanted their engagement photos at this beautiful course overlooking the Hudson River.
It was so easy right from the start with these two, as they are so cute and snuggly and were great at making each other laugh and smile. Their faces lit up when they looked at one another and their love was obvious from the moment I met them. They relaxed quickly into the flow of things and their comfort with each other shines through in their portraits.
A special guest joined their photoshoot – their frenchie Louie! He hopped right on the cart with them and rode all over the course while AJ and Christina had their engagement session. He loved chasing all the golf balls around the greens and was such a cute addition to the session.
Starting on the Greens
The golf course is stunning, but very hilly, which worked in our favor to provide amazing views. The day was sunny and the afternoon drenched them in warm buttery light. It also made for a gorgeous backdrop for their photos as the sun dipped lower in the sky.
I love Christina’s style and adored the two outfits she chose. The first was an embroidered two-piece french blue skirt with matching top, which paired perfectly with AJ’s squared blue polo. The color selection worked so well with the greens and natural tones we found on the course during their golf course engagement session.
Vanderbilt Mansion at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course Engagement
We dropped Louie off at home and Christina & AJ changed into all-white attire that gave a nod to a more classic bridal look. Christina’s white dress had tone-on-tone floral details and feminine bow straps, which looked absolutely stunning on her. We headed back up on the course for some sunset shots before heading over to the mansion to finish their session.
The Vanderbilt Mansion is an historic building that now serves as the club house and restaurant for members. With classic architecture and an imposing facade, it was a perfect way to add a diversity to their images and take them “off” the golf course without actually having to leave the grounds. Christina mentioned being inspired by the engagement photos of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. And we had fun using their seated pose as a source of inspiration – I think Christina & AJ nailed it!
