When Christina and John inquired with me to photograph their post-elopement portraits at Boston Public Garden… I immediately knew it was going to be a special day. These two decided to make it official at the City Hall nearby before their photo session, with a meaningful private ceremony. Then we all met up for some photos! John’s parents joined us, and I loved seeing how excited they were for their son. And how they welcomed Christina with open arms as a new daughter-in-law. Those family moments are so special to document.

Boston has a way of wrapping you up in history while still feeling full of life and possibility, and Christina and John’s choice to elope at City Hall felt just right. It was personal, simple, and so full of meaning. With family planning to celebrate together on a cruise later this summer, they wanted to carve out this moment in their hometown. It was a nice way to pause and soak it all in before heading off on new adventures.

Portraits in Boston Public Garden

After their ceremony, we strolled through the park, where the rain graciously held off just long enough for us to wander the pathways and capture portraits surrounded by the lush greenery & iconic scenery. Christina looked stunning in her chic white jumpsuit. It was an elegant twist on traditional bridal style that fit her perfectly. And the way John looked at her? Absolutely heart-melting.

What stood out most wasn’t just how gorgeous they looked together, but how much fun they had. These two were sweet and playful, constantly making each other laugh. That kind of natural connection is a dream to photograph. The photos aren’t just portraits, they’re little glimpses into the unique connection that makes their love so special.

Like many couples, Christina and John were a bit nervous about being in front of the camera. But within minutes, any worries melted away as we walked and talked. Christina later shared the kindest words about their experience:

“We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer, photographs, or overall experience than with Lynne. She is so warm and professional, and we didn’t feel awkward at all — which we thought would be impossible for wedding pictures! She made it so easy and fun, and the resulting photographs were better than we hoped. Not to mention the photo shoot flew by and she delivered the pictures earlier than expected. Ten out of ten.”

Hearing that means the world to me, because my goal is always to help couples feel comfortable, celebrated, and truly themselves on such an important day.

Christina and John’s elopement was the sweetest reminder that weddings don’t have to look one certain way to be meaningful.

Whether you’re planning a grand celebration or a simple City Hall ceremony followed by a stroll through Boston Public Garden, what matters most is capturing the love and joy you share.

Congratulations, Christina & John! I’m so excited for you as you celebrate with friends and family later this summer. What a beautiful start to your married life together.
