Ellie and Tyler’s Cape Cod engagement session in Wellfleet was full of charm and laughter. It felt like just spending a day with sweet friends. They are college sweethearts who met at Dartmouth, where Ellie played lacrosse and Tyler played soccer. Tyler proposed in Washington, D.C., over the holidays. While taking family portraits at the monuments, he surprised Ellie by getting down on one knee in front of the reflecting pool, surrounded by loved ones. It was perfect for them!

We began their engagement session in Wellfleet at Ellie’s grandparents’ home. A place that holds lots of memories and sentimental value.

The quiet paths and natural greenery offered the perfect backdrop as Ellie and Tyler strolled hand-in-hand. You could tell they felt so natural and at home here. Ellie wore a flowing white sundress with delicate straps and an open back, while Tyler kept it classic in a navy button-down and white pants. Their looks complemented one another so well. Think: effortless, coastal, and relaxed.

Afterward, we wandered through the downtown Wellfleet area, stopping at some of their favorite local spots.

With striped awnings, classic storefronts, and the playful charm of a Cape Cod town, the streets set a fun and romantic tone to Ellie & Tyler’s photos.

Whether sharing a laugh or walking side-by-side past colorful displays in quaint shop windows, these two brought grounded happiness to each moment.

No Cape Cod session would be complete without time by the water. So, we headed to the beach, and enjoyed the fresh salty sea air to close out their session. They walked barefoot along the sand, pausing to sit together and soak in the view.
