There is something extra special about a love story that starts close to home. This Montauk Engagement Session with Courtney and Pete felt meaningful from the very beginning. These two first met on a dating app in 2021, only to discover they lived just a few blocks from each other. What are the odds!

What started as a digital introduction quickly turned into something real.

Their first date took place at a brewery on Long Island. From there, their relationship grew naturally. They described it as easygoing. Comfortable. Full of laughter. The kind of connection that feels like friendship and romance all at once. And you can tell in their photos.

A Proposal by the Water

Reqind to November 2024. Pete proposed on a quiet stretch of beach in Montauk. It was secluded and peaceful.

And it instantly became a landmark for their story as a couple.

So, for their engagement session, we returned to that exact spot.

The rocky beach with weathered driftwood was where Pete popped the question. Standing there again brought the story full circle.

The day was chilly and a little windy when we had our Montauk engagement session, but that meant the beach was completely ours.

Moments like that always feel a bit magical.

Courtney had her hair and makeup done beforehand and looked absolutely stunning. The soft evening light felt like a gentle spotlight on her, and Pete could not stop smiling at her.

This location is a beautiful choice if you’re craving the coastal look to your gallery. You can easily capture:

  • beachside photos
  • walking on the doc
  • overlooking the cliff
  • wandering through the green fields nearby

I recommend it to all my New England couples who would love to get that gorgeous coastal feeling in their images.

Since this beach holds a special place in their relationship, exploring it together made the session feel so personal. It was actually my first time visiting, and Courtney and Pete happily showed me around as we talked about their love story, their proposal, and their wedding plans.

What stood out most was how naturally these two fit together.

They truly are best friends. They’re just totally comfortable with one another. At the same time, there is a real spark between them that brought so much energy to their photos.

We wrapped up the evening at the Montauk Lighthouse just as the sky began to shift into soft pastel colors. Cotton candy clouds stretched across the horizon and created the perfect ending to the session.

Those quiet moments at sunset felt like the perfect reflection of their relationship.

I cannot wait to photograph Courtney and Pete again when they get married this September at Land’s End in Sayville.

Their day is going to be incredible, and this beautiful Montauk Engagement Session was just the beginning.
