Engagement Session Part One – Sunrise at the Public Garden

Well before their fall Boston public garden engagement session, Kat & Dave met in college. That’s right, they’re college sweethearts! They met at Duke and started dating there. Dave even brought Kat back to Duke to propose! They’re planning their summer wedding in CT next year, but they live in Boston now and wanted to capture engagement photos in the city they call home.

We met for a sunrise session at the Boston Public Garden in October. Even though the sun didn’t come out, the rain stayed away long enough for our session and we had the place pretty much to ourselves! We took our time strolling through the park. Kat & Dave snuggled together against the backdrop of bright pops of foliage and hints of the city. Their looks perfectly embraced the fall season, with a nod to cooler weather in neutral tones and warm sweaters. We stopped along the pathways and by the water throughout the Public Garden, even getting the bridge to ourselves for a few photos.

Engagement Session Part Two – Beacon Hill & Acorn Street

We headed to Beacon Hill for the second half of their session. This change of location was the perfect opportunity for an outfit change as well. They took the opportunity to dress up just a bit more, while still feeling like themselves, and Kat opted for a pop of color in her dress. So , after we stopped for a quick freshening up, we headed down Charles Street. We spent some time on possibly the most iconic of all Boston streets – Acorn Street! Kat and Dave are so cute together. They’re a little goofy and totally comfortable together. Dave made Kat laugh all through the session and those moments of the two of them immersed in each other are my absolute favorites. Congratulations again on your engagement, Kat & Dave! XO

The Public Garden and Beacon Hill are two of my favorite spots in Boston for engagement sessions. But there are more great Boston spots to choose from, too! Check out my top ten here!
