When I first got the inquiry for this stunning Valley View Farm Wedding in Massachusetts, I was so excited. Not only because it was a July 4th wedding (how fun!), but because the groom was a former student at Classical Magnet School where I taught in Hartford, CT before I moved to Boston and went full time in my business. He was a senior when I taught 8th grade, so he wasn’t my student directly, but it was wonderful to come full circle!
The Couple’s Love Story
Nicole & Errol met on a dating app, and he traveled to see her for their first date! It clearly went very well, because these two hit it off. You’ll see in their images how VERY much in love they are!
Errol proposed on an RV trip with Nicole’s family through Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons in the Summer of 2020. He waited until the end of a hike that placed them in front of a waterfall and proposed there. It was a popular spot and they ended up having lots of people clapping and cheering for them when Nicole said yes!
They decided to get married at Valley View Farms on July 4th!
Getting Ready at Valley View Farm
While Errol and his groomsmen got ready at the venue, Nicole got ready at her parent’s nearby home. It was in her parent’s bedroom that her mom helped her zip up her dress. Standing near the portrait from her own parent’s wedding years before made for an extra special time. Nicole chose to do a first look with her bridesmaids and father, which brought on smiles, cheers, and tears. She wore her mother’s veil and earrings to compliment her amazing lace gown.
These two embraced the red, white, and blue color scheme for Fourth of July with a focus on keeping it elevated. They did so with muted tones in the florals and elegant berry colored dresses for the bridesmaids. I also loved that Errol wore a bold blue suit and had the rest of his groomsmen in pale blue – both perfect for Summer and to make Errol stand out.
Emotional First Look:
After getting ready, Nicole went to Valley View Farm for their first look. They met in a field where Nicole approached Errol with his back turned. As soon as he turned around and saw his bride, he teared up. And then, of course, so did Nicole! As a wedding photographer, I never get tired of capturing these intimate, authentic moments. The sun was peaking through the clouds for these photos, and we got the prettiest images capturing their July 4th summery wedding photos.
We got the best wedding party photos after the first look and the landscape created a picturesque and idyllic backdrop.
(And take a peek at the bridesmaid’s flowers! Nicole’s cousin was a bridesmaid but also did all the florals for the wedding and they were stunning!)
A Joyful Valley View Farm Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was so meaningful. Both Errol and Nicole cried on the walk down the aisle, and most of their family & friends were in tears too. That’s how you know this couple is meant to be together, the emotion from all sides was palpable. I was so honored to be there to capture these moments. By the time these two said “I Do” & had their first kiss, the whole venue was filled with applause!
Reception at Valley View Farm:
The guests enjoyed a cocktail hour al fresco after the ceremony. And it was absolutely lovely to enjoy the nice Summer weather outdoors.
Then, Nicole & Errol surprised everyone with a choreographed first dance, complete with lift and spin at the end! From the meaningful toasts by loved ones, to the wild fun dance party throughout the evening – the whole venue was brimming with JOY for these two. They are very well loved and threw a really fun party for all of their guests.
During golden hour, we snuck away from the reception for a few moments to get some of those glowy evening photos. Valley View even helped them incorporate the horses in some shots.
Nicole & Errol, it was an honor to capture your Vallley View Farm wedding! Congrats!
