Last fall I had the pleasure of second shooting a gorgeous Weekapaug Inn wedding in Westerly, Rhode Island with my friend Alisha Norden. The wedding took place on a crisp sunny October day and with a vivid sunset during the ceremony and the deep blue of the ocean acting as the perfect accent to the pale blue and green tones E & P chose for their wedding. You can see Alisha’s full blog post from the day here.
Getting Ready At The Weekapaug Inn
While Alisha was with E and the girls, I started with P and the guys to capture them getting ready for the day. P stayed at the Weekapaug Inn, which has a classic New England feel. E And every detail throughout the day was thought of, including special elements like P’s monogrammed suit and the delicate ranunculus boutonnieres each of the groomsmen wore. After P got ready, he stepped out onto the deck to read the card E gave him. It had him grinning from ear-to-ear and got him even more excited for their first look.
E & P’s First Look
E’s family lives right in the neighborhood of the Weekapaug Inn, so she and P held their first look right outside a family home, making it extra special. They were both so excited to see each other and were adorable together as they held hands, snuggled up together, and generally couldn’t stop smiling as they looked at each other. After some portraits of the two of them, all of E’s girls joined the fun and we headed to the Inn to get the groomsmen and take wedding party portraits. Then E & P decided to walk the short distance to the inn so they could take their time and enjoy being together in the sunshine. It was a great decision! The walk was lovely and led to some fun photos, as well as some greetings from neighbors along the way!
Sunset Ceremony On The Lawn at Weekapaug Inn Wedding
Because of the sun setting earlier in the fall, the ceremony ended up being timed perfectly as the sun was just starting to set. They had a friend officiate their wedding, making it super personal. Of course, everyone was laughing or in tears in turns as they pledged their love to one another. After the ceremony we stole away for some final sunset portraits during cocktail hour.
Tented Wedding Reception
The party moved from the back lawn to the tent for dinner and dancing that evening. Of course, just like the rest of the day, the tent was absolutely stunning! It was decked out in lush floral centerpieces full of hydrangea, roses, and blue thistle. Along with the flowers, the head table had pillar candles adding to the romance. And each guest found their seat by picking up an oyster shell with their name calligraphed on it! E & P were introduced in to the applause of friends and family. Next, they went right into their first dance, cutting a rug on the dance floor before inviting all of their guests to join them in the fun before dinner was served. Congratulations you two! XO
