This Lake Placid Wedding and Bark Eater Inn reception were my first in the area. It was a beautiful way to start documenting love stories in the Adirondacks! G & B fell in love in the Adirondacks, so even though they don’t live in the area anymore, they knew they wanted to get married in the mountains where their love story began. Not deterred by Covid-19, they celebrated with family and close friends. They also included lots of sentimental elements to make their day personal. G & B even hired their photographer friend Jeremiah  Sjoberg to be their wedding photographer and he drove cross-country from LA to be with them and document their day. I had the pleasure of second shooting for Jeremiah. Truly, the day couldn’t have been more beautiful!

Getting Ready in Lake Placid

I started with B and the gentlemen at their Lake Placid air bnb before the church ceremony. B had special ties made for him and the groomsmen that had the design of a topographical map of one of the mountain ranges on them. They were really cool and spoke directly to his love of the mountains. He also had a beautiful wooden box with moss for the best man to hold the rings in. I photographed his details while the guys got ready. Then I captured B as he put on his finishing touches with the help of his best man and father. We ended up taking some photos on the flower-covered front porch as they toasted to B before heading to the church.

Lake Placid Wedding Ceremony

The church is right off the main tourist area in Lake Placid and just around the corner from where B got ready. He was so sweet and a bit nervous as he waited for the ceremony to start – he absolutely couldn’t wait to see G for the first time in her wedding dress. As the doors opened and G entered, B’s face lit up and he wiped a few happy tears away as she walked down the aisle. The ceremony was beautiful and full of joy as G & B exchanged vows and rings and shared their first kiss in front of their intimate group of family and friends. Friends and family cheered as the newlyweds exited the church and B surprised G with a vintage mustang decorated and waiting as their getaway car! They drove from the Lake Placid wedding to the Bark Eater Inn alone, enjoying some time together on the road before jumping into portraits and their wedding reception at The Bark Eater Inn in Keene.

Lake Placid Wedding – Bark Eater Inn Reception

We headed to a stunning overgrown field nestled in the mountains for portraits. The whole wedding party were great sports – trekking into the field in their gowns and dress shoes so we could get some incredible shots with the mountains behind them. Afterward, we headed to The Bark Eater Inn for the reception. It was a gorgeous day and guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the garden before heading into the tent for dinner and toasts. The vibrant fall palette came together beautifully, as did the entire day, with the help of the talented coordination of Katy from VanBee & Co.

Love this wedding in the mountains?! You’ll also love this NH vineyard wedding and this wedding on the coast of ME!
